Hello Everyone, I hope you all are doing good. I have so many question about Spotify Playlists Submission. I mostly make solo piano music, which is almost falls into those peaceful or meditative piano music genre. My first track '2017' was released last year and got into lots of Editorial playlists. Since I'm not signed with any label what general things I should keep in mind. Also, when submitting to distributors or to Spotify curators, what genres you guys choose? Does solo piano music falls into Instrumental music? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I can only really echo what's already been said. Aside from the general metadata being as accurate as possible (Neo-classical, classical piano, chill, meditative etc.) the music needs to be the best you can make it!
Thank you a.blomqvist and Cameron for your insightful replies. I agree with you on the point that releasing music consistently will definitely help in longer run. Honestly I'm not worrying if the track gets playlisted or not. But I thought maybe I chose the wrong categories. I released my first track '2017' with CD baby and literally didn't even write anything as such while submitting to curators. And for 'Dear Siya' I used Tunecore. Maybe releasing through labels would help. At least Spotify have that feature to submit unlike other streaming platforms. Thank you once again guys. :)
I've also just listened to your latest release Dear Siya and I think it's really great. Honestly, it really fit's the style of music that is successful on the big editorials, especially on Spotify. To a point though it is a number's game, there are lots of great releases from amazing composers every week, so as long as you're releasing high quality pieces, consistently, hopefully you'll start to land on some big playlists. It can be more challenging though with less playlist updates and maybe only 5-10 releases will land on a big Spotify Playlist every week or so. So I'd just say keep on doing what you're doing and I believe you'll get there in no time.
Hey there,
Are we talking about playlists in general or EDITORIAL playlists specifically?
I've never been added to an editorial so i can't really give any tips for that, but i'm curious to see what others have to say!
