Hello guys, i want to share with you this.
We talked on @kjell sønksen's post about ghost profiles and how shady editorial playlists on spotify are.
Today i was just listening to some Peaceful Piano on spotify and i noticed something weird and interesting at the same time. I went on Anders Linros profile (which i dont think it's a ghost profile) to see if he released new music, which he did, December 14th (remember the date). He released a single with two songs in it. So i decided to listen to them and surprisingly they were really weird an "bad", i mean the quality of the piano, the composition itself, the duration. It completely doesn't sound like someone who makes music that landed on the most popular piano playlist on spotify. Here's the link to the songs: https://open.spotify.com/album/5K8604nllWEIzrTln2KSwe?si=yp_3k6sATgyeqdF5iYHH2A
Another things that is weird to me is that he released the songs with two other "artists", Emanuel Fremont and Ryley Moss.

They both are ghost profiles (i suppose) with their songs on a lot of editorial playlists and millions of streams.

The strange thing is that the Emanuel Fremont and Ryley Moss that released with Anders Linros are not the same as the ones with millions of streams. In fact they are two completely new profiles with only those two songs in it.

I found later, that the same exact thing was done by the "artists" Bodor Vencel, Lupe Sinsonte and Jane Avril.

They released these two songs on December 15th (one day after the first one) with the same piano sound and the same style of composition. Here's the link: https://open.spotify.com/album/3buMvB6am5ri1WdJmAM3DR?si=lxMXdED3Tgq6DbLH3oDi-g
I thought maybe there's more. So i did an investigation. I went on all the ghost artists on Peaceful Piano and i looked if they did the same thing. And incredibly, i found other 15 artists did the same exact thing! Fifteen! Here's the photo of each release (notice the date of the release).

They have all the same piano sound and each composition is really poor musically and they all last a minute or so. It is something that i cannot explain, it is really strange. I think it is clear that behind all these 21 profiles there's the same person. But why release on more than 20 profiles, two songs that have really low quality both musically and sound, with the same modus operandi, one minute per song, three artists for each release, even the artworks are poor. Especially if that same person can make songs that are perfect for the editorial playlists. I mean, wtf?
I am curious to hear your opinion on this, and if you already noticed it. I'll leave the link to all the songs i found so you can listen by yourself.

UPDATE:
all of the songs i listed above were removed from Spotify. Dont' know what to think 😐
thank you for sharing this Elia,
I feel a little disturbed by this. Sadly I'm not surprised by experiencing the fake system behind this. Forced myself to listen to this - it's hard to bear, but it's not the music only, it's the plastic gold driven concept behind all of this. Depersonalized ghost profiles with good felt piano & good writing is one thing, successful ghost profiles creating shitty collabs and next level fake music is another. I don't have a plan at all. Maybe it's some trick to make them look more human. Sharing it here in a forum and elsewhere online is a good way in prevention (maybe) I just wish that when all of this gets transparent someday, it's not us paying the price for it 😐
Smh.. that first link you shared has to be some kind of joke...
seriously i don't know what to think anymore, i just gave up a while ago. 🤣 Editorials are full of fake artists, ghost profiles, or even the same artists under 5-10 different accounts.
Think about it, if you're Spotify, would you rather have a bunch of fake artists / make some kind of deal/contract with a particular artist to make super basic music and release under multiple names so you can add those pieces to your playlists OR add emerging artists that you have to pay one by one? It's a no brainer. Unfortunately that's the direction we're headed to.
Of course you can still get lucky and have some of your music added to editorials, if you're with a well established label even more, but i just feel like It will only get worse over time.
Play music you love, release music you love. BUILD A FAN BASE. don't chase trends or editorials. Just be yourself.
wish you all the best for 2023!
I don’t know, but definitely should keep this post as a interesting case and share it outside on reddit and also trying to get people on this one by commenting on it ! Good finding !
