I've never released with a label yet in my 2 years releasing music but i can probably answer to some of your questions.

In my opinion, releasing with a label can have some benefits, like for example having your music added to an editorial playlist. It's not a must, i've seen independent artists like myself make it to editorials without a label.

Another benefit would be that you don't have to spend as much time advertising or reaching out since most labels will do some advertising for you.

You can usually reach out to any label on Instagram and ask what's the best way to submit your music to them. You can also check their website and you might find the information there. Some of them will ask you for a demo of a piece to see if they are interested, some might ask for a mixed version... it depends!

Now, which label is best for you? that's very personal.. most artists i know have released with many different labels. It's a common thing to see artists switching back and forth between labels since not all labels approve ALL your pieces. so basically they send a demo to a few labels and see who accepts their piece. over time you will see which label brought you the best results and experience, so you can stick with them if you like.

I've been lucky enough to have labels reach out to me and ask me to release with them, but i've politely declined them since, at least for now, i prefer to stay independent. I think i managed to do a great job so far and i can still manage to do everything by myself and keep 100% of my royalties but this is personal. I know labels, editorials, would probably bring me many more streams but i'm mainly focusing on building an audience, getting loyal fans, rather than how many streams i can get.
