When composing, do you usually sit at the piano with a certain thought or feeling and compose with something specific in mind OR you tend to improvise until you like what you hear?
I personally do both but mostly the 2nd and once i came up with something, THEN i reflect on what that idea makes me feel. That's why most times i only come up with the name of a piece when it's completely finished.
Of course, even though i mostly come up with ideas while improvising, whatever mood i'm in at that moment will dictate the melody i come up with. I just don't necessarily have something specific in mind!
